The Inaugural Post

The First Word | The is my first blog post. There’s no need to wrap it up in smooth sounding dialogue. I’ve just taken the first step towards bringing the constant conversation I have offline, to some nook in some closet somewhere in the the online world. I have no real expectations around how I’ll resonate as a writer, nor on how I’ll be perceived as a content creator. All I’m really looking for is an outlet to have these conversations. Is anyone really listening? Maybe. Though what does that matter. In my eyes, blogging needs to be done for rather intrinsic reasons. A basic need to participate the ever changing virtual world. It’s the reason I have Facebook. It’s the reason I post to Instagram. It’s the reason I played Neopets not so long ago.

So Who Is This Guy | I’ll set up a pompous biography page in the future, but I’ll give you the short pitch for now. I’m a business student, graduating into a marketing career at a telecommunications firm. I’m a Torontonian in practice and at heart.  I’ve travelled Europe extensively, and have taught in the poor regions of India, yet I’ve never stepped foot in the United States. My passions lie in emerging technology, Toronto culture, and learning about brilliant people who do cool things to change the world. I imagine this blog will reflect some of this.

What’s Next | As many people know first hand, starting a blog is easy. You need a webspace, a basic knowledge of the internet, and a keyboard. It’s incorporating a blog into a lifestyle that becomes a challenge. As I create more content, and perhaps I even find a following, I’ll continue the design of this space. For know though, I need to focus on translating the conversation in my head into my Macbook. Here’s to new beginnings. Cheers. ♣
